Hey to all! After a long "hibernation" i'm going to begin pushing out alot more work!
I've been reading quite a bit lately, right now i'm into the book MUSASHI, which is a hefty 900 pages plus! I finished a book by Stephen E. Ambrose about WWII B-24 bombers over Europe. I can't get enough of WWII and i've never actually done a WWII illustration. So here is one of the thumbnails i'm planning on painting, the waist gunners in action. (i'm going with the oneoutlined in red).

Rome

My trip to Rome was a blast! I ate amazing food, drank insane amounts of wine, (red and white) and saw incredible architecture at every turn! I also was able to see my bro get married...well actually i missed the ceremony...heh hehe. The ceremony was only 20 min. long and wasn't very formal but still i felt horrible. The reception was the important part where the vows were exchanged and we made our drunken speeches! Seeing family was great but i am ready to start pushing out some work again! I Missed all of my friends alot too and they seem to be kicking my butt with some awesome pieces they've done! Good job guys!! So here are some sketches of my new home in Minneapolis as well as the Rome trip, enjoy!

Here is an illustration i did for a writer i met at the Wizard World Chicago comic con. He is reissuing an adaptation of EA Poe's The Bells. There will be a pin-up section at the end of the book featuring artists and their interpretations of Poe's stories. My friend Caleb Prochnow also did an image for him.

The assignment given by C. F. Payne was two people in a conversation. I had already failed on a previous illustration of this image and i tried to re-wire my thinking: I wanted to approach a painting the way I would do it! Most of my friends haven't seen this one. It's okay but not necessarily my favorite. I did learn a couple new things with this, ( which is my ultimate goal for each piece when using photoshop, since i have a habit of getting too comfortable with certain tricks). I've got alot of catching up to do with my thesis so my personal blog will be taking a backseat for awhile (as well as Blogarians) but i won't leave you kiddies dissapointed!

This week's theme, Dreams. The dream originally started out involving elephants, but i merged that image with an old one involving lions, and this is what came from it! It's more design oriented, and the simple shapes of the lions dictated the simplicity of the animals. Thats me in the mask FYI.

Fuck...anyway, i sorta reverted back to my old style of drawing...it was fun to get back in my sketch book with a pencil since up until about a year ago i did nothing but ink in it.
